Itinerary
Today on arrival Pickup, after breakfast proceed to Shimla with on the way sightseeing of Chandi Mandir, Pinjore Garden, Parwanoo Timber Trail, Barog Hills, Sankat Mochan temple. On arrival free to stroll on the Ridge Maidan, Christ Church and the Mall Shimla. Later check in hotel and night stay at Shimla.
Today, after breakfast proceed to Sarahan, with on the way sightseeing of Kufri, Hassan valley, Kufri mini zoo, Narkanda which is a holy peak and temple of Hatu Mata, here you can enjoy the mighty view of the Himalayas . On arrival at Sarahan, check-in to the Hotel. In the evening attend Aarti and visit Bhimakali Temple which is 800 years old and one of the best examples of hill architecture and also one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. One can catch the breathtaking panoramic view of the Srikhand Mahadev Peak after that drive to Hotel. Overnight stay at Sarahan.
After breakfast we will proceed to Sangla, with on the way sightseeing of Tanda Pass, Karcham Dam. On arrival visit Kamru village and make a small walk to visit Kamru Fort which has a temple dedicated to Kamaksha Devi. Sangla a populous village, situated on the right bank of the Baspa River, is famous for its high fertile soil, at an elevation of 2621 m above the sea level and falls at a distance of 17 km from Karcham. It is built on a slope with the house rising one above the other the scene being closed by the gigantic Raldang Peaks towering behind. Evening free to stroll in Sangla Market. Night Stay at Sangla.
Today, after breakfast we will visit to Chitkul, it is a village in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. It is the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border. The Indian road ends here. The Baspa valley is the prettiest valley in the Himalayas. Its terrain and green vegetation on the slopes are not very steep. A populous village situated on the right bank of the Baspa is built on a slope with the houses rising one above the other with gigantic Kinner Kailash peak domination the scene. Overnight stay at Sangla.
After breakfast at the hotel you will be driven to Kalpa village (2-3 hrs.) Enroute we will stop at Recongpeo and will have a walk around the local market. Recongpeo is the district headquarters of Kinnaur district. We will have lunch in a local restaurant where you have a choice to enjoy Indian or Tibetian food. After lunch we visit the Kalpa village and the nearby Roghi village. These villages are covered with thick pine forests and are famous for apricots and apples. The finest view of the Mt. Kinner Kailash Mountain (6000 metres) can be had from here. This is a spectacular sight early in the morning as the rising sun touches the snowy peaks with crimson and gold light. Kalpa is situated at an altitude of 2759 m from the sea level, on the old Hindustan Tibet Road at a distance of 260 km from Shimla. Earlier it was the District Headquarter of Kinnaur. It is 14 KMS. It has all the characteristics of a heritage village. Kalpa came into prominence in the wake of British Governor General Lord Dalhousie’s visit in the 19th century. Overnight in hotel in Kalpa Valley.
After breakfast we will drive you to Tabo (9 -10 hrs.). Enroute we will drive you through Puh and Nako. We will visit Nako Lake and village and will have lunch in Nako. Later we continue our drive to Tabo en route visit the Gue village which is also the last Indian village on Indo-Tibetan boarder. Here we will be visiting the naturally preserved mummy of a Buddhist monk which is about 600 years old, which was discovered here while building the road. Later on reach Tabo and check in to your hotel. Today we will be entering the beautiful Spiti valley which is also known as the cold desert of the Himalayas (this area is cut from rest of the world due to heavy snow in the winters).
After breakfast we will visit the Tabo monastery which is the oldest monastery in the Himalayas. Later we will drive you to Kaza (3 hrs.) En route we will visit the Dhankar village and Dhankar monastery and fort. Here we will have a cup of tea or lunch with a local family. Later on we continue our drive to Kaza where you will check in at your hotel. The evening is free to explore in the Kaza market.
Today after breakfast we will be driven to the village of Lagnza. Here there is an opportunity to walk around the village. You may wish to visit the monastery at the top of the village and on the way look out for fossils. Here you can also see the yak working in the fields or yak grazing in the pastures. If weather permits there is an option drive on to Hikkim, and the Comic village, which is now the world’s highest village (4,450 metres) joined to a motorable road. Later we will continue our drive to Kee Monastery and the village of Kibber. Once Kibber (at 4,200 metres) was considered the world’s highest village. There is also the option to walk to the nearby mountains where there are big herds of Himalayan blue sheep and snow ibex gather in the evening. Lunch will be at Kibber village, in a local restaurant, where you will be offered a choice of delicious Tibetan dishes. In the evening we will return to Kaza for a second night at the hotel.
In this morning check out from hotel and drive to pin valley. Pin Valley is the only cold desert National Park located in Himachal Pradesh. The park lies in the valley of the Pin river, from where it derives its name. Return back to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Kaza hotel.
Morning after breakfast leave for Chandratal Lake by crossing Kunzam Pass (15,100ft) reach Batal, change a vehicle to Sumo to proceed to Chandratal lake. On a way have a magnificent view of CB Ranges Peaks. This Deep Blue Water Has A Circumference Of 2.5 Kms. This Is The Source Of The River Chandra According To Some Believers, This Is The Spot From Where The God Indra`S Chariot Took The Eldest Pandava Brother Yudhistra To Swarga To Heaven In His Mortal Form. In afternnon transfer back to Chandratal. Overnight stay at Chandrata.
Today we wil drive to Manali (5-6 hrs). On the way we will stop for breakfast at Chandertal lake Camp, and then for lunch at Any hotel. Today we will cross two high mountain passes one of which is the highest point on the whole journey (Kunzum Pass, 4,558 metres / 14,950 feet) and also visit the temple on the pass where travellers say prayers before heading down the pass. The Kunzum Pass provides beautiful views of CB ranges and Glaciers. Later on we will continue our journey over the Rohtang pass (3,980 metres / 13058 feet), Gulaba, Kothi and enter Kullu valley. We will reach Manali in the evening and check in hotel evening free to stroll in Manali market and Mall Road as it is the main shopping area of the town .Night stay at Manali.
Today checkout hotel and we will make an early start to Delhi as it is a long journey with on the way sightseeing of Kullu Raghunath temple, Shawl factory, Oat tunnel, Pandoh dam and continue drive to Delhi. On arrival drop at Chandigarh as per your wish.
